Alumnae Memorials

Some friends and families of Nazareth Alumnae who have passed away often inquire about meaningful ways to remember graduates at the Academy. There are a number of ways to honor and memorialize Nazareth graduates, friends and families. Contributions in memory of someone can be sent to the Development Office and then the family can determine how they would like to utilize the funds.

Some examples…

A graduate from Class of 1964 passed away last year and the family asked that the funds be used to purchase needed equipment for the Math Department. This was done and the family came to school to dedicate a plaque and see first hand how the legacy of their sister and daughter continued at NA.
A graduate from the Class of 1986 passed away during the time when her class was planning a reunion. The classmates made extra contributions and donated it back to NA in the form of a Commemorative Memorial Brick to be installed when the new Performing Arts Center is built.
A graduate from the Class of 1988 passed away and her family had contributions come to NA. They decided to expand on this and create a scholarship for an incoming freshman at Nazareth each year. In order to raise the necessary funds, the family continues an annual fundraiser. Please see Jeanmarie Doherty Cunningham under Alumnae Events.

These are just a few of the ways to leave a legacy. Please contact Jacqui McClernan Makowski, '85 at 215.268.1032 if you would like to discuss ways to memorialize a loved one.
