Alumnae Memorials
Some friends and families of Nazareth Alumnae who have passed away often inquire about meaningful ways to remember graduates at the Academy. There are a number of opportunities to honor and memorialize Nazareth graduates, friends and families. Contributions in memory of someone can be sent to the Development Office and then the family can determine how they would like to utilize the funds.
Some examples of tributes made to NA by family and friends include raising funds to purchase a needed item for the school or for use in a specific department. Others have chosen to establish memorial scholarships to assist current NAHS students. Many gifts are tied into reunions, as classmates reconnect with one another and make extra contributions for a class gift on behalf of their classmate.
These are just a few of the ways to leave a legacy. Please contact Jacqui McClernan Makowski, '85 at 215.268.1032 if you would like to discuss ways to memorialize a loved one.

Michelle Lynn Mayer, '86
Nazareth Academy High School is humbled to announce, in partnership with the Mayer and Steinbach families, the establishment of the Michelle Lynn Mayer Memorial Scholarship Fund. In a tribute by Michelle's brother Keith, he talks of her writings and how they centered upon her childhood memories including "her fabulous high school years and the lifetime friends she made during those four years." The relationships built within the halls of Nazareth and with the Class of 1986 especially served as lifelong friendships for Michelle and ultimately as a strong support system for her family.
Michelle's legacy will endure through her children, her writings, her life and now through her alma mater. The Michelle Lynn Mayer Memorial Scholarship will assist an incoming freshman with financial support, thus enabling another young woman to make Nazareth a cornerstone of her life.

Jeanmarie Doherty-Cunningham, '88
Jeanmarie Doherty-Cunningham lived her life as a wonderful wife, devoted mother, excellent student and loving daughter. A graduate of NAHS' class of 1988, Jeanmarie left an indeliable mark on so many lives in such a short time. As a school teacher, Jeanmarie worked daily to ensure a quality education for elementary school students at Saint Katharine of Siena School.
After her passing, her family decided create a scholarship for an incoming freshman at Nazareth each year to ensure that Jeanmarie's legacy for educating lived on. In order to raise the necessary funds, the family continues to hold an annual fundraiser in the fall. Please see Jeanmarie Doherty Cunningham under Alumnae Events.
