Horatio Alger Scholarship | Deadline Date: October 30th, 2008
Eligibility requirements include intent to pursue a bachelor's degree at an accredited institution, critical financial need (preferrably $50,000 or lower adjusted gross income per family), involvement in co-curricular and community service activities, minimum GPA of 2.0, and U.S. Citzenship. Coca-Cola Scholarship | Deadline Date: October 31st, 2008
Scholars are selected based upon academic achievement, capacity to lead and hours of dedicated community service. Please access the online application at www.coca-colascholars.org and click on Coca-Cola Four-Year Award for Seniors.
Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship | Deadline Date: January 15th, 2009
Requirements include a one-page essay stating why you plan a career in government service including any inspiration to be derived from the leadership of George Washington in his famous crossing of the Delaware. You must confine the essay to viewpoint, attitude and purpose in choice of career. Recommendation from Principal or Guidance Counselor is also required. Go to www.gwcf.org for application guidelines.
Suntrust "Off to College" Scholarship | Deadline Date: May 15th, 2009
Beginning September 15th, 2008, students may enter sweepstakes every two weeks, from October through May 15th, 2009. Eligibility not based on GPA or financial need. Apply online at www.offtocollege.info.
