Overview |
Campus Ministry
Nazareth Academy High School is a community of faith. Faculty and students become involved in all aspects of the school’s spiritual life. Opportunities are provided, through which students deepen their relationship and understanding of themselves, God and His Church. All are invited to share in the coordination and planning of the liturgies and prayer-services throughout the year. The school minister is available during school hours and other school related functions.
Some examples of experiences provided to foster a climate of faith include:
• Daily morning prayer over the public address system
• Prayers before the start of each class
• Liturgical class celebrations
• Seasonal liturgies and special liturgies for community and staff celebration
• One day annual faculty and class retreats required for all
Kairos Retreats
Kairos is a four day intensive retreat held for students during the Senior Year. During Kairos, which translates as “God’s time,” the students are invited to a deeper awareness of their own goodness as well as the importance of God and others in their lives.
Usually three or four Kairos retreats are scheduled each year. The retreat is an option to the one day class retreat that all students must attend. For more information regarding retreat policy, please download the Retreat Information Sheet (.pdf). The Retreat Dates for the 2008-2009 school year are the following:
October 23rd - 26th, 2008 | Retreatant List
January 15th - 18th, 2009 | Retreatant List
February 12th - 15th, 2009 | Retreatant List
The Retreat fee is $310 per retreatant. The fee will be billed through the Business Office. Students must have their parent's or guardian's permission to attend. Please download the Parental Permission Form (.pdf) here, if necessary.
Any questions regarding the Kairos Retreat may be forwarded to Miss Meghan McKeever at 215.268.1043.
