Welcome to the Nazareth Academy High School website!
Allow me to acknowledge what an honor and privilege it is to have been chosen as the first president of Nazareth Academy High School. In collaboration with Principal Sr. Rita Fanning, our focus will be managing for growth, leadership, and innovation. Our goal is to strengthen our position as the premier center of college preparatory secondary Catholic education for young women in Philadelphia. Consistent with our mission we will maintain an unceasing commitment to educating the mind, body, and spirit, along with an unparalleled dedication to academic excellence. True to its tradition, the Nazareth experience transforms girls into young women prepared to be life-long learners and leaders in a global society.
As you visit our website, I hope that you will come to learn that Nazareth Academy is a school worthy of your daughters for the next four years. They are the treasures of your lives, and the Nazareth community will embrace them and prepare them well. In fact, they will leave us changed for the better after having lived the Nazareth experience for four years.
Nazareth Academy High School began simply with the prayers of Blessed Frances Siedliska, Foundress of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. For the Sisters, embracing faith, family, and education is a mission that they live out every day in everything they do. Following their model and channeling their passion we challenge our young women to attain their full potential academically, spiritually, and personally.
We are steadfast in this mission and in our Catholic identity that ensures that the Nazareth experience includes opportunities for community service along with leadership, athletics and extra-curricular activities. Your daughters will find that at Nazareth, our academics, athletics, activities and the arts come alive.
At the end of the day, Nazareth students learn to believe in the power of faith; to believe in the power of possibility; to believe in themselves. They become leaders whom people will follow and who learn not to be affected if society does not value healthy virtues as much as they do. In a world that cries out for leadership, we greet our incoming freshman as girls, and in four short years they are prepared to be tomorrow's leaders. Leaders as defined by their professional success, yes, but more importantly, leaders in virtue, morality and social justice.
We are all called upon to be leaders by living lives of Catholic values. By preaching the gospel to others not with our words (which can often be misunderstood) but through every action and every interaction we have with everyone, every day. This calling is our north star, and that is what makes Nazareth Academy extraordinary. That is what makes Nazareth Academy the right choice.
