The following topics will be covered in the Honors Algebra 2 placement test:
- Solving Linear and Quadratic Equations, Absolute Value
- Linear Inequalities
- Algebraic Exponents
- Factoring and Multiplying Polynomials
- Operations involving Algebraic Fractions
- Graphing of points and lines on a Coordinate Plane - line given in both standard and in slope-intercept form
- Identifying slope, y-intercept
- Give the equation of a line when given a slope & a point, 2 points, and a line parallel to the original line
- Solving systems of equations
- Problem Solving - Area, Distance, Mixture, Factoring of Polynomials
*Please note:
1. No calculators will be used during this test.
2. The test consists of three parts: 1) multiple choice questions, 2) student generated response problems requiring work process shown, 3) a 10-minute timed test on integer and fraction operations.
3. All students placed in Honors Algebra 2 must be able to grasp concepts quickly and have a complete mastery of junior high math skills.
