The Application Process

Regular Admission

Regular Admission

In the Fall of 8th grade, Nazareth Academy High School encourages students to officially begin the admissions process. Applicants should complete the following steps to ensure that all of the proper paperwork/materials are submitted on time for enrollment.

Step 1 - Come Visit Us!

Attend one of our Shadow Days

Students who participate in the Shadow Program are able spend a day as a Nazareth Academy High School student and meet current students and faculty, observe classes, eat lunch in our student dining room, and attend various assemblies and presentations! Shadow Days for the fall semester have concluded and will resume beginning at the end of January. Available dates and online registration will be available in the New Year.

Attend one of our Open Houses

Our Open Houses gives prospective students and parents the opportunity to tour our school, receive information on all of our offered courses and extracurricular activities, gain knowledge on our admissions process, and meet with current students, parents, teachers, staff, coaches and administrators. Open Houses occur twice a year, usually in October and April.

Our Fall Open House will be taking place on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 9 AM to 12 PM. Pre-registration is closed, but please feel free to walk up and register on Saturday morning!

Step 2 - Complete the Online Application

Complete and submit your Online Application for Admission by Thursday, October 24, 2019. A copy of the applicant's birth certificate must be provided with the application. There is a $50 non-refundable application fee that is due at the time of application submission. Please note: Submitting an Application for Admission does NOT automatically register your daughter for our 8th Grade Entrance & Scholarship Exam.

Step 3 - Submit Supplemental Admissions Documents

After completing the online application, each applicant should submit the following documents by Thursday, October 24, 2019:

Student Transcript

To request copies of your academic records, you must complete the Transcript Release Form and submit it to your current school. The school will then forward copies of your transcript, attendance records, disciplinary records, and standardized test scores to NAHS.

6th and 7th Grade Report Cards

Your current school will not send copies of the 6th and 7th grade report cards. It is the applicant’s responsibility to make copies of the report cards and mail, email, or fax them directly to Nazareth.

Teacher Recommendation

In order to obtain a letter of recommendation, applicants should forward the Teacher Recommendation Form to their Principal, Guidance Counselor, or 6th, 7th, or 8th grade teacher. The evaluator will then complete the recommendation and mail it directly to Nazareth. NAHS only requires and recommends ONE teacher recommendation.

Step 4 - Take the 8th Grade Entrance and Scholarship Exam

Our 8th Grade Entrance and Scholarship Exam is a critical tool in the admissions process as we consider candidates for the Class of 2024.  Students who are unable to sit for the exam at Nazareth may choose to take it at another private or Archdiocesan high school in the area and send their scores to us to be considered for admission. Pre-registration is closed; limited walk-up registrants will be accepted. Please accompany your daughter to our Main Office and register using cash, check (made payable to Nazareth Academy High School), or credit/debit card.

Please note: only students who take the exam at Nazareth are eligible for all scholarships.

For more information regarding our scholarships, please visit our Affording NAHS page.

Step 5 - Interview for Admission

Qualifying applicants will receive a notification from the Admissions Office inviting them to schedule an interview. Each qualified applicant and their parent/guardian will have the opportunity to meet and interview with a member of the admissions staff or school administration. Please note: applicants must have a completed admissions file before an interview can be scheduled. A complete file includes the applicant’s Application for Admission, transcript from her current school, 6th and 7th grade standardized testing results, and one teacher recommendation.
