Welcome from Our Admissions Director
Naz because…it is my second home. From visiting Nazareth for the first time during Open House in October 2004 and taking part in an 8th Grade Shadow Day to my interview for Nazareth and the first day of my freshman year, Nazareth quickly became my second home. The Nazareth community is truly a family – my teachers were like second parents who provided me with tools for success and my classmates became my sisters, remaining so to this day.
Having returned to Nazareth as the Director of Admissions, I am proud to say that Nazareth’s mission of embracing faith, family, and education is still as strong as ever! In keeping with our mission, I have the pleasure and privilege of passing on my love for Nazareth on a daily basis. From meeting girls at our 5th and 6th grade events to watching them grow into incredible young women during 7th and 8th grades, it is a joy to get to know our students so well even before they begin their freshman year! High school admissions can be a daunting process with many events to attend, forms to fill out, and questions to answer. The most important question to answer, though, as you go through the admissions process is – “Is this school the right fit for me?”. Figuring out the right high school for you is a very personal experience, and Nazareth is here for you for every step of the journey.
I encourage you to learn all about Nazareth through the unique and plentiful opportunities we have for getting to know our students, our faculty, our parents, and our school. What will be your “Naz because…”? I love my school a million, and I am sure you will too when you join our Nazareth family! I look forward to seeing you soon!
With Panda Pride,
Ms. Derassouyan '09

I was very nervous transitioning to high school from 8th grade because I was the only girl from my grade school class to choose Naz. I thought everyone was already going to know each other and it would be difficult to make friends, but it turns out I had nothing to be afraid of. Everyone in the school was so pleasant and welcoming - teachers and students! Over the past few years, I have made the best friendships of my life. I never want high school to end!
As an 8th grade student I knew that I wanted to continue my education in a private Catholic high school. I would instantly know my decision when I walked through the doors of Nazareth. I was warmly welcomed by the faculty and staff, and it immediately felt like home. For me, Nazareth has been the perfect environment to grow and develop in my studies and activities. Upon starting at Nazareth, I quickly became involved in community service and our music department, which has given me opportunities to help others, travel domestically and internationally, and grow as a young woman and musician. As I look back on my choice to come to Nazareth, I know that it was the best decision I have ever made. The sisterhood creates bonds between generations of Pandas and is something very unique to Nazareth. Nazareth has given me the knowledge and power that I need to do anything I set my mind to and has provided me with a strong platform of support that I know will always be behind me.
I have been a Nazareth Mom since 2007. My two older daughters graduated in 2011 and 2013. So, when it came time for my youngest daughter to choose a high school, it was an easy decision! The teachers and staff know the girls by name. Yes, they do an amazing job preparing the girls academically for college, but they do so much more. They know how to bring out the best in each and every student. I am truly grateful for not only the education my girls received but also, and more importantly, the confidence they graduated with. Nazareth is not your typical high school - it truly is a family! Nazareth is a special place and really does embrace Faith, Family, and Education!
Our daughter's first year at Nazareth could not have gone any better! We had a very good feeling the first time we visited Naz, and so far it has lived up to all of our hopes and expectations. It's fun, it's challenging, and it's rewarding. Our daughter has made some great friends, is doing well academically, and is really enjoying her time in the music program. We definitely feel like we made the right choice for her when we chose Nazareth. My wife and I appreciate the hard work and dedication of the faculty and staff – thank you!
Going through the process of choosing a high school for your daughter can be overwhelming. There are many important factors in making this decision, and as a parent, you want the best for your daughter. By choosing Nazareth, you will provide your daughter with strong academics, a supportive faculty and staff, a foundation of faith, lasting friendships, and incredible lifelong memories. As a parent, it has been a pleasure being involved in the Nazareth community since my daughter’s freshman year. Nazareth has become a second home for my family!
