Athletic Hall of Fame Nominations

The Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes the achievement(s) of those who have made a significant contribution to the athletic program at Nazareth Academy High School or who have distinguished themselves at the collegiate or professional level after participating in athletics at Nazareth Academy. Nominees are divided into three categories: Athlete, Team, and Coach. The Athletic Hall of Fame Committee vets the eligible nominees for induction each year after review by the Administration.

Nominee Categories and Criteria

Athletic Hall of Fame Committee

The Athletic Hall of Fame Committee is made up by the following:

Athletic Director – Chair
President
Principal
Alumna
Faculty/Staff Member
A member of the Athletic Hall of Fame

The Athletic Director, President and Principal shall appoint members to the Athletic Hall of Fame Committee. The members will serve two, 2-year terms with the possibility of a 2-year renewal term. No member of the committee will be eligible for induction while serving on the committee.

Candidate Criteria

A worthy candidate must:

Uphold the mission and beliefs of Nazareth Academy High School.
Exhibit good moral and ethical character, as judged by acceptable Nazareth standards.
Demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities.
Demonstrate a level of achievement or service that stands out from the ordinary.
Achieved honors and recognition that bring credit to the community and to Nazareth Academy High School.

Athlete Nominee Criteria

A nominee must:

Be a graduate of Nazareth Academy High School and graduated 7 or more years ago.
Have had superior accomplishments as a student athlete at Nazareth Academy (All-AACA, All-State, etc.).
Have displayed moral character, good citizenship, and strong academic performance during high school, and post high school years will be a consideration.
Have made significant contributions to the overall Nazareth Academy athletic program including longevity, overall record and championships.
Have exemplified characteristics of integrity and sportsmanship during her time at Nazareth Academy.
Once nominated, nominees will be active for 3 years. After 3 years, those not selected will be placed on an inactive list. Nominees moved to the inactive list may be re-nominated for consideration.

Coach Nominee Criteria

A nominee must:

Have exemplified good character and have upheld the mission and beliefs of Nazareth Academy.
7 years must elapse after completion of his/her tenure as a coach at Nazareth Academy.
No member of the committee will be eligible for induction while serving on the selection committee.
Record and contributions to their respective sport while coaching at Nazareth Academy will be a consideration.
Once nominated, nominees will be active for 3 years. After 3 years, those not selected will be placed on an inactive list. Nominees moved to the inactive list may be re-nominated for consideration.

Team Nominee Criteria

A nominee must:

Those nominated in the team category must have had their class graduate from Nazareth Academy a minimum of 7 years before becoming eligible for consideration.
The team must have attained a championship at the league, section, or state level.
Once nominated, nominees will be active for 3 years. After 3 years, those not selected will be placed on an inactive list. Nominees moved to the inactive list may be re-nominated for consideration.
