""We need only to perform the daily duties which He has given us and do this with love and joy!"
On Friday, we celebrated our virtual Day of Caring which took the place of what should have been our Legacy Gala. From the many posts and videos about our honorees and our students, it felt as close to being at Nazareth as we could in this troubling time of social distancing. Congratulations for Joe Connelly and Sons and to Mrs. Quinn on being honored for all they do for Nazareth Academy High School!
Like so many of you, we are missing friends, family, and our reassuring routines of school, work, and life. We especially miss the daily interaction of our students and faculty, and the energy they bring to our hallways and classrooms. Again, like so many of you, we have established new routines. Looking around our beloved school building since the crisis hit, it appears that time has stopped. Classroom whiteboards read "March 12, 2020" while leftover birthday signs for March celebrations and the green for St. Patrick's Day still abound. While time may have stopped within the building, Nazareth Academy High School has not stopped outside if it. Our teachers and staff have not stopped. Our students have not stopped. Our parents have not stopped. On a moment's notice, we were all asked to reinvent ourselves as online educators and students exclusively, all while taking on other challenges, personal and otherwise, that this crisis has created beyond the walls of any virtual classroom.
Proudly, our students and faculty have efficiently transitioned to virtual classrooms, discovering new ways to communicate, teach and learn. Their resilience and creativity are a constant source of inspiration. It has been necessary for all of us to find new ways to stay connected with friends, coworkers, and loved ones.
For as much as we have all have done, there is still more to do, the school year continues. We will continue to do this, and get through this, together.
NAPA Election The election for the NAPA board will take place during the next two weeks. Voting has been extended through April 24th. We appreciate your thoughtfulness in this election process.
Click here to open the ballot and vote. For your convenience, the link to the ballot form will be listed on the parent tab of the Nazareth Academy website.
Looking forward to when we can all be together. Until then, stay safe and stay healthy!

Holy Family of Nazareth, pray for us!
Schoolwide Retreat Day, April 24th The originally scheduled in school retreat day on Friday, April 24th will now be conducted virtually. Details on how to access the retreat will follow in a separate email to the students this week. The theme will focus on having hope, walking in faith when the road ahead is dark. We are very much looking forward to the retreat and we pray it helps all the girls grow in their relationships and trust with Jesus. We will have a keynote address from Megan Mohan, of ANTHEM. ANTHEM is the Archdiocese of Philadelphia's Youth and Young Adult Office for Evangelization. Girls will need to bring an open heart along with a piece of paper to journal!
Required Service Hours Due to these unprecedented times, as we are quarantined in our homes, the service hour requirement for students will not be counted this semester. For service, every student will receive a PASS on their report card. At this time, the CSC office and theology teachers will accept any hours that girls have completed and log them for next fall. Those hours include making masks and donating to services. If you unsure if a certain service they want to get hours for counts at this time, just send me an email and I will review the criteria for service requirements. Please know that while we still encourage service, it is NOT mandatory during these challenging days.
Kairos Leadership Opportunities for Sophomores We are extending the deadline for Kairos leadership opportunities. Please encourage your daughter to apply to be a Kairos leader for their senior year retreat! We are accepting applications until Wednesday night, April 22nd, and the applications can be found in their Nazareth emails. For more information or any questions, please email Ms. Donnelly.
We look forward to "seeing you all" on Facebook Live Prayer Zone every day at 10:45.
Academics As an outcome of this pandemic, we needed to make an adjustment to our exam schedule. Both our faculty and students have adapted well to online learning and we wish to alleviate any additional stress. For this semester, final exams have been waived. For courses that require prerequisites next year, there may be an optional placement test, depending on the course.
Deficiency Reports will be distributed on April 21st and are due to be returned by April 28th.
Thank you for your support during these difficult days. Your daughters are doing outstanding work and have adapted well. If you have any concerns that they may have regarding virtual learning., please contact Mrs. Quinn, Assistant Principal for Academics.
