Parent Update
October 5, 2020
Dear Nazareth Academy Parents and Guardians:
This communication is to inform you that we were notified late this morning that a student has tested positive for COVID-19. In addition, we were made aware of several social gatherings over the weekend and the risk of exposure to a number of students. Out of an abundance of caution, all classes will be all remote for the next two weeks. All athletic and extra-curricular activities will be postponed including Kairos. We will return to the Hybrid Learning Model on Monday, October 19th with the Blue Cohort. Information about the October 14th PSAT and in-school SAT will be shared later this week.
Immediately, upon receipt of this information, we contacted the City of Philadelphia Public Health Department. The City of Philadelphia Public Health Department investigates all suspected or confirmed reports of COVID-19 and provides guidance to affected individuals and institutions. COVID-19 investigations include finding close contacts during the contagious period (contact tracing).
If a contact tracer contacts you in the next few days, please respond so that we are able to eliminate any further exposure.
We ask that you abide by the CDC guidelines to protect your health and those around you.
As a reminder, if you or someone in your household exhibits COVID related symptoms, please notify Nazareth Academy High School so that we may track any potential outbreaks within our school community. All such personal information will be maintained with confidentiality. The health and safety of our students, teachers and staff is our top priority. We will take all possible steps to maintain the well-being of every member of our school community.
If you have any questions, please email our Pandemic Team at COVID@NazarethAcademyHS.org.
May the Holy Family of Nazareth bless you and keep you safe.
In Christ,
James D. Meredith Denise LePera Principal President 4001 Grant Avenue • Philadelphia, PA 19114 • (215) 637-7676 |
