The total education of a young woman reaches beyond the classroom and into the community. Nazareth Academy High School’s reputation for service is legendary with our students logging more than 13,000 hours of service annually.

For Nazareth students, service is a year round experience that includes:

  • collecting school supplies for area grade school
  • gathering winter clothing and food for local shelters
  • serving holiday meals to older adults at senior centers
  • mentoring children in their school and communities

Nazareth students branch out into the community fulfilling their Christian service at St. Francis Inn, Mount Nazareth, and numerous deserving organizations.  The cornerstone of Nazareth’s service program is the annual Bread Basketball Program where homerooms join in a friendly and meaningful competition collecting beverages, vegetables, cereals, baby supplies, toiletries and more for those in need. At the end of the four week competition, homerooms are “weighed in” on their donations. Typically, the scales top more than eight tons.

The students here at Nazareth Academy High School are continuously reminded of our call to “Love One Another.” One way that we stress as a way to fulfill this commandment is through serving our brothers and sisters in Christ. Service is intricately ingrained in the fabric of our school community. In an effort to share in the mission of Jesus, all students are to complete a minimum of 20 hours of service for each school year (a minimum of 10 hrs. per semester).
