Holy Family Dual Enrollment Partnership

Nazareth Academy High School has partnered with adjacent, fellow sponsored ministry Holy Family University to make the transition to higher education easier for students.

Nazareth Academy 11th and 12th grade students can dually enroll in General Education courses at Holy Family University, receiving credit on both Nazareth’s and Holy Family’s transcripts.  Students have the opportunity to experience a college campus, full use of the library, gym and other facilities without ever leaving Grant Avenue.

This partnership allows eligible Nazareth Academy High School students to take college credit courses at Holy Family University for less than a third of the cost during their high school years.

Holy Family University, a ministry of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, offers education in the liberal arts and professions through graduate, undergraduate, and non-degree programs. As a Catholic University, Holy Family seeks direction and inspiration from the life and teaching of Jesus Christ, affirms the values of the Judeo-Christian tradition, and witnesses to the dignity of each person and the oneness of the human family. Holy Family University educates students to assume lifelong responsibilities towards God, society, and self.

Anyone interested in taking a course through HFU Dual Enrollment can contact Sister Teresa Mary for further details. Sister will individualize contracts and begin the HFU registration.  Once contracts and payments are made, Sister Teresa will be able to register the student for the desired class.   Students must receive approval from Nazareth Academy’s Assistant Principal for Academics, Mrs. Theresa Moore

Information on the courses offered through Holy Family University

·        The fee for a one semester HFU course $400.

·        You would earn a NAHS credit and a HFU credit

·        Courses offered at NAHS are may not be taken at HFU

·        Classes at Holy Family will be found on the HFU website. Generally, 100 level courses are available to high school students.  

Course name and grade will appear on your Nazareth transcript but will not be factored into a Nazareth GPA.  NAHS schedule aligns well with HFU courses so do our best to arrange NAHS schedule to fit Holy Family courses.

Courses taken through HFU may not be used as a listed prerequisite for a class to be taken at Nazareth Academy.
