Montclair State University

Hispanic Student College Institute 2019
August 6 – 8, 2019
Open to Juniors and Seniors who identify as Hispanic. Students will

  • Engage in career exploration and goal-setting initiatives
  • Attend college-planning workshops
  • Participate in a majors fair and mock college interviews
  • Live on campus at Machuga Heights

No cost for students to participate and attend.  Institute participants will be eligible for scholarships to attend Montclair State University in the future and will receive certificates of completion to include in their college applications and their resumes.  Apply and complete an online application at https://montclair.edu/admissions/hsci

Duke University Summer Session

At Duke Summer Session, we are committed to providing high school students with the opportunity to be a college student over the summer at one of the world’s premier universities.  By attending our Summer College program, you will not only have the authentic college experience of living in Duke University’s dorms and taking credit-bearing classes alongside undergraduate students, but also the opportunity to accompany your college application with a letter of recommendation from a Duke instructor and transcript from Duke University – two substantive indicators that you have what it takes to thrive in an elite academic setting.

University of Penn College Exploration

UPenn is hosting a free college workshop for counselors, students, and parents on May 30th from 6:30PM-8:30PM. Click this link to register.

“College Exploration will focus on starting the college search process. At this FREE workshop, you will get advice from Admissions professionals on how to begin your college search, key questions to ask as you craft a list of the best colleges for you, and some tools to help you get started on this exciting journey. Then learn about the financial aid process, how to make it work for you, and what you need to know to be prepared to finance your years in college. This program is for Philadelphia and Camden public, charter, and parochial high school juniors, their parents/guardians, and their high school/CBO counselors.”

Steven Institute of Technology programs are carefully designed by our faculty to be creative, project-driven, hands-on immersions that give you not just real college experience, but real world experience too. Did you know that Temple University offers summer pre-college programs for high school students on our campus in Philadelphia? Whether your students want to earn college credit (and a Temple scholarship!), prepare for the SAT, or explore future careers, we have exciting programs happening this summer for them.

Indiana University Summer Honors Program

The Cooks Honors College hosts Indiana University of Pennsylvania Summer Honors Program for talented rising high school juniors and seniors to get a firsthand college experience. You’ll make new friends, learn through discussion-based classes, and connect with other young promising scholars.

Pace University's 2019 Summer Scholars Institute 

Pace University's Summer Scholars Institute is designed for highly motivated and talented high school juniors and seniors eager to experience what college can be like academically, intellectually, and socially. If this sounds like one or more of your students we hope you'll share the attached information with them.

Held at our New York City Campus, this two-week program, combines study in one of five disciplines with active exploration of NYC’s cultural life—and events designed to complement the curriculum. Students can choose from the following academic tracks

William & Mary National Institute of American History and Democracy Summer Program

Session 1: June 23 – July 13, 2019

iD Tech Camps

iD Tech offers summer camps for individuals ages 13-17 in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Fortnite Camp and Unreal Engine Level Design, Assemble Your Take-Home Laptop and Code in Python, Twitch Game Streaming and Video Production, and VR Design with Unity and Oculus Go. Camps are offered at a variety of universities in the area such as Arcadia University, Rowan College, University of Pennsylvania, Bryn Mawr College, Villanova University, Princeton, and West Chester University. Jefferson University Fashion Merchandising and Management Summer Workshop

Jefferson is offering a Fashion Merchandising and Management Summer Workshop on Thursday, July 18, 2019.  This free, one day workshop gives high school students the opportunity to learn about careers in the field of Fashion Merchandising and Management.  The workshop will include an overview of the field, a career panel as well as a field trip to visit retailers in charming Manayunk.

Here is a glimpse of the day:

  • 10:00 – 10:30 Fashion Merchandising and Management Overview
  • 10:30 – 11:30 Jefferson-East Falls campus tour including the Fashion and Textiles Future Center
  • 11:30 – 12:30 Enjoy Lunch on Campus
  • 12:30 – 1:15 Career Panel
  • 1:30 – 3:30 Visit to Manayunk (students only)
  • 1:30 – 3:30 Optional Parent Programming
