This is an elective course that teaches students about and to use Windows 10, the Microsoft Office 2016 Suite, and Office 365. It will introduce new and experienced users to the easy-to-use applications associated with Microsoft Office. It covers such areas as composition of letters, spreadsheets, visual presentations and databases, including integration of the Internet. The course will also introduce the students to and our school LAN, the anatomy of a computer, and the integral role computers play in our lives.
This is an elective course that teaches students intermediate techniques using the Microsoft Office 2016 Suite and Office 365. This course is an intermediate offering of Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint. This course will also cover the integration feature of Office 2016. This feature will show the functionality and productivity of the Microsoft Office System.
Is an elective course that teaches student to use Microsoft Office Publisher. It is a program designed to create professional publications for print. Some of these publications include: brochures, newsletters, cards, calendars, certificates, and business forms.
Is an elective course that will provide students with the basic instruction for them to be able to create an effective web page that you can use for home or work. Instruction will include page design, graphics, form design, tables, navigation bars, backgrounds, hyperlinks, tables, Cascading Style Sheets, forms and publishing methods. Students will use the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite including Dreamweaver.
Budding photographers and videographers can explore the digital world as they unleash creativity using Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud and Adobe Premiere Creative Cloud. Students will learn how to digitally enhance a photograph, balance and correct color, remove unwanted objects, define muscles, enhance eyes, lips and fix hairstyles. This course is also designed as an introduction for people interested in exploring the process of video editing and technical considerations associated with it. This course offers basic knowledge and practice in the process of capturing, storing, editing and delivery of digital video in different mediums (CD-Rom, web, DVD etc.). Prerequisite: CMAP 0204 or successful completion of placement exam Juniors and Seniors College Prep 1.00 Credit
This course is a rigorous, entry-level course that introduces students to the foundations of modern computing. The course covers a broad range of foundational topics such as programming, algorithms, the Internet, big data, digital privacy and security, and the societal impacts of computing. Prerequisites: Successful completion of Algebra 1 GPA 3.500 Juniors and Seniors Honors 1.00 Credit
By examining the simultaneous development and diffusion of many cultures, the student recognizes the increasing interdependence among peoples and how change has always been the central fact of human existence. Students question, analyze, evaluate and draw conclusions about the way in which people of the past shaped their lives and ours.
