Community Service Corps

The total education of a young woman reaches beyond the classroom and into the community. Nazareth Academy High School’s reputation for service is legendary with our students logging more than 13,000 hours of service annually.

For Nazareth students, service is a year round experience that includes:

• collecting school supplies for area grade schools
• gathering winter clothing and food for local shelters
• serving holiday meals to older adults at senior centers
• mentoring children in their schools and communities

Nazareth students branch out into the community fulfilling their Christian service at St. Francis Inn, Mount Nazareth, and numerous deserving organizations.

The cornerstone of Nazareth’s service program is the annual Bread Basketball Program where homerooms join in a friendly and meaningful competition collecting beverages, vegetables, cereals, baby supplies, toiletries and more for those in need. At the end of the four week competition, homerooms are “weighed in” on their donations. Typically, the scales top more than eight tons!

The students here at Nazareth Academy High School are continuously reminded of our call to “Love One Another.” One way that we stress as a way to fulfill this commandment is through serving our brothers and sisters in Christ. Service is intricately ingrained in the fabric of our school community. In an effort to share in the mission of Jesus, all students are to complete a minimum of 20 hours of service for each school year (a minimum of 10 hrs. per semester). Students receive a grade of Pass or Fail for completed hours. Each semester a date will be designated as to when the hours will be due.

Service guidelines are listed in the Student Handbook, along with a listing of approved non-profit organizations students with which students may volunteers. The Guidelines can also be downloaded here.

About Naz

"Embracing Faith, Family, and Education"

"Naz's where you belong."  How will you finish the sentence, "Naz because..."?

Our student to faculty ratio of 9:1 allows our teachers to interact with students 1-on-1, providing constant help and support.

Campus Life

Our activities provide a diverse set of opportunities for spiritual, social, physical, and intellectual growth for the students.

Learning about commitment, dedication, hard work, discipline, and teamwork not only helps on the field, but in the classroom as well.

Fine Arts

The Fine Arts at Naz allow students to release their creativity, whether it be through song and dance or a piece of fine art.

Giving to Naz

We are called to give to "Nazareth" - not the building, but to “Nazareth” the home...our home.
