MATHEMATICS TEACHER

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education - Mathematics, or related field.
· Pennsylvania State Certification or Master’s Degree preferred

Major Responsibilities:
· Instructional Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and rigorous instruction in Geometry, Statistics and other Math courses as assigned, aligned with the school’s curriculum and academic standards.
· Curriculum Planning: Develop and maintain up-to-date, well-structured lesson plans with clearly defined sequential objectives based on the approved curriculum. Submit plans in accordance with school policies and incorporate current best practices in Math education.
· Collaborative Engagement: Work collaboratively with Math Department colleagues to support curriculum development, interdisciplinary learning, and department goals.
· Classroom Environment: Create a positive, orderly, and student-centered classroom environment that reflects the values of Catholic education and supports the mission of Nazareth Academy High School.
· Student Supervision and Discipline: Maintain effective student management and ensure the safety, attentiveness, and well-being of students in the classroom and during school-related activities.
· Assessment and Reporting: Accurately record and report student attendance, academic progress, and performance in accordance with school procedures. Participate in parent-teacher conferences and provide timely communication regarding student development.
· Co-Curricular Involvement: Support student growth by voluntarily participating in and supervising school-approved co-curricular activities, events, and functions.
· Professional Growth: Demonstrate a commitment to professional development by actively pursuing opportunities for continued learning and growth in Mathematics education and pedagogy.
· Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the school’s educational mission and operational needs.
Evaluation:
· Performance for this position will be evaluated on an annual basis by the NAHS Administration

Mathematics Learning Specialist
MATHEMATICS LEARNING SPECIALIST

Summary
The Mathematics Learning Specialist is responsible for providing Mathematics support to the students registered in Nazareth Academy’s Academic Enrichment Program. This position has authority over decisions related to students’ reasonable academic and behavioral accommodations to meet the needs of the designated students. The Mathematics Specialist is responsible for the compliance of these accommodations within the content area of Mathematics. The Mathematics Specialist works interdependently with all learning specialists in the Academic Enrichment Program and reports to the Director of Academic Enrichment.

Major Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with members of the department as well as Mathematics area teachers.
- Is able to support, supplement, and extend Mathematics teaching to the diverse learner.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of accommodations that aim to support students diagnosed with a learning difference.
- Planning and Preparation: Plan approaches and create tools to provide effective Mathematics strategies for students diagnosed with a learning difference.
- Instruction: to provide a classroom learning environment that adheres to the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of Nazareth Academy High School.
- Student Control and Discipline: to be responsible for the order, attention, and well-being of students under your care in the classroom setting.
- Recording and Reporting: To communicate and meet with parents in regularly scheduled conferences and/or whenever necessary to report individual student progress.
- Professional Development: to show evidence of continuous growth in the teaching profession.
- Perform other duties assigned.
