Congratulations to the following Nazareth students who earned Honors during the 2018-2019 School Year.
This past weekend, our Rocket Panda teams of Stardust and Space Oddity competed in the Team America Rocketry Challenge. Both teams advanced to the final round for the Championship, but alas, gusty winds took our rockets elsewhere from where they needed to be! But no worries--our Rocket Pandas are considered to be in the top 5% of the nation's student rocket teams. Not waiting, our Rocket Pandas are already planning their 2020 run!
The Archdiocesan Educational Fund awarded Nazareth Academy High School a grant in the amount of $99,300 for the 2019-2020 Fiscal year. The funded program will support Nazareth’s STREAM initiative titled STREAM: 21stCentury Teaching and Learning. Matthew H. McCloskey Jr. (1893-1973), building contractor and U.S. Ambassador to Ireland (1962-64), created and funded the charitable organization in 1967 to advance Catholic education and evangelization throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

With its home crowd imploring Nazareth Academy to find a way to defeat rival Villa Maria Academy, the Pandas loaded the bases with one out. A walk forced home the lead run. Another walk provided insurance. Five singles later, Nazareth had exploded for nine runs and then held on for a 13-6 victory on Tuesday, May 7.
Nazareth Academy High School, the only private Catholic high school for girls in Philadelphia, is pleased to report its achievement in earning the coveted reaccreditation status by the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools, the gold standard for measuring and advancing school improvement.
Stephanie Marino was a great athlete. But she had very little experience playing the outfield.
That’s when Shannon McGurk worked her magic.
