Music Performance Opportunities

Membership is by audition.  Advanced performance skills are required.  All music scholarship students are expected to participate in the chamber ensemble.  Chamber Ensemble rehearses Wednesdays from 2:05 to 2:40 p.m.

Includes vocalists and instrumentalists who lead the music for Liturgical celebrations throughout the year.  Attendance at rehearsals and functions is mandatory.  Choir Connection rehearses Mondays from 2:10 to 2:40 p.m.

The Chorale requires an audition and the ability to read music. 

Requirements:

• Sing a mjaor scale both ascending and descending (without piano); repeat rhythmic and melodic patterns dictated from the piano.

Responsibilities of membership: 

• Attend all rehearsals and concerts
• All Chorale members are expected to go to the competition in the spring.

Chorale rehearses Tuesdays from 2:50 to 4:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 2:50 to 3:30 p.m.

The Chorus members should have some experience with group singing.  Music reading is preferred, but not required.  This is a group for those who love to sing and want to learn to participate in a choir.  No audition is required; however a strong commitment to the group is expected.  Singers must attend all rehearsals and concerts.  Chorus rehearses Tuesdays & Thursdays from 2:10 to 2:40 p.m. 

Previous dance experience is not required for this dynamic group.  Come join us as we dance to a variety of styles.  Dance rehearses on Wednesdays from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m.

Members of this group play jazz and rock arrangements.  You must play the trumpet, trombone, saxophone, keyboard, guitar, bass, or drums to be a member.  The band performs at school functions and competitions.  Jazz Band rehearses Mondays and Wednesdays before school from 7:20 AM to 7:55 AM.

Any musician at NAHS can become an orchestra member.  You do not need to be a music major or minor; however, you must know how to play an instrument and have one available.  Instruments are available to rent.  Lessons on all orchestra instruments are available.  Attendance at rehearsals in expected of all students.  Orchestra rehearses Tuesdays & Thursdays from 7:15 to 7:55 a.m. 

This is our a cappella pop choir.  Membership in the CHorale is required.  Rehearsals begin in the fall.  Pandamonium rehearses Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.

The Ensemble features our string players - violins, violas, cellos, and basses along with piano accompaniment.  String players are welcomed to participate in the ensemble which performs a repertoire of classical and pop music at school functions.  String Ensemble rehearses Wednesdays from 2:35 to 3:15 p.m.
