Embracing faith, family and education

School Leadership

A Welcome from the President

President Denise LePera posing in the chapel

Welcome to Nazareth Academy High School!  It is my distinct honor and privilege to serve as the first president of Nazareth Academy High School. Our focus continues to be managing for growth, leadership, and innovation.

The promise of Nazareth Academy High School is to embrace faith, family and education.  Consistent with our mission we will maintain an unceasing commitment to educating the mind, body, and spirit, along with an unparalleled dedication to academic excellence. True to its tradition, the Nazareth experience transforms girls into young women prepared to be life-long learners and leaders in a global society.

We challenge our young women to attain their full potential academically, spiritually, and personally.  We are steadfast in this mission and in our Catholic identity that ensures that the Nazareth experience includes opportunities for community service along with leadership, athletics and extra-curricular activities. Your daughters will find that at Nazareth, our academics, athletics, activities and the arts come alive.

At the end of the day, Nazareth students learn to believe in the power of faith; to believe in the power of possibility; to believe in themselves. They become leaders whom people will follow and who learn not to be affected if society does not value healthy virtues as much as they do. In a world that cries out for leadership, we greet our incoming freshman as girls, and in four short years they are prepared to be tomorrow's leaders. Leaders as defined by their professional success, yes, but more importantly, leaders in virtue, morality and social justice.

We are all called upon to be leaders by living lives of Catholic values. By preaching the gospel to others not with our words (which can often be misunderstood) but through every action and every interaction we have with everyone, every day. This calling is our north star, and that is what makes Nazareth Academy extraordinary. That is what makes Nazareth Academy the right choice.

As you visit our website and experience our many admissions events, I invite you to talk to our students and parents, visit our school community and experience for yourself why Nazareth Academy is a school worthy of your daughters. They are the treasures of your lives, and the Nazareth community will embrace them and prepare them well. In fact, they will leave us changed for the better after having lived the Nazareth experience for four years.

Blessings,

Mrs. Denise LePera
President, NAHS

A Note From Our Principal

Serving as Principal of Nazareth Academy is more than just an honor, it is a sacred trust. I follow in the footsteps of committed educators who devoted themselves to the students of Nazareth Academy High School in the tradition of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth.

Their commitment to service and to the mission of Mother Foundress, Blessed Mary of Jesus the Good Shepherd built this very special school. Over ninety years, through tough economic times and times of prosperity; through war, including a World War, where eleven Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth were martyred at Nowogrodek, Poland, and peace; from Amelia Earhart flying across the Atlantic to Sally Ride soaring across the stars; from the radio show to reality television; the principals and the teachers of Nazareth Academy saw the times change dramatically but one thing always remained constant. Their commitment to the mission of leading young women to develop their potential academically, spiritually and personally through a foundation of strong faith, rigorous academics and a focus on family never wavered.

As Principal, I invite you on to walk with us on a journey that began over ninety years ago. Walk through our doors and join us in prayer in the Chapel, the breathtaking heart of our school. Stretch yourself academically in our rigorous course program. Perform in our renown performing arts program and create in our art studio. Send a rocket into the skies with our Rocketry Club. Join hundreds of our students who perform over one hundred hours each year of service. Compete in athletics on one of our many teams throughout the school year. Mother Foundress, Blessed Mary of Jesus the Good Shepherd once wrote, “Jesus conducts us along the safest, the most suitable path for us.” Here at Nazareth Academy High School, you will find the most suitable path for you.

May the Holy Family of Nazareth bless and keep you.

In Christ,

Mr. James D. Meredith
Principal, NAHS
